Louth Students Shine At 2016 BT Young Scientist Exhibition

I was delighted to visit exhibitions displayed by Co. Louth students at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2016 in the RDS on Thursday, 7th January 2016.  There were 11 Louth secondary school projects from Our Ladys College Drogheda, St. Vincent's Secondary School Dundalk, Coláiste Rís Dundalk, Scoil Uí Mhuirí Dunleer, and Bush Post Primary School Dundalk at this year's exhibition.

I have had the pleasure of meeting with Louth students at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition over the last five years and each year proves even more impressive.

Year on year the projects submitted by young Louth scientists showcase thought provoking and well designed experiments and investigations.  This year our young scientists exhibited projects on quitting smoking and which method may be the most effective; airplane ear; venus fly traps; same sex marriage and its impact on the economy on both sides of the border; agricultural aids; refugees and many more topics.

I would like to congratulate students on their excellent projects at this year's exhibition.  I would also like to commend our local teachers for their ongoing guidance and support for their students.
