Louth to play important part in Culture Night on Friday Sept 19th
Local people are being urged by Labour Senator Mary Moran to get out and discover Louth's cultural offerings when Culture Night rolls into town.
“Culture Night is Ireland’s largest cultural participatory event, and is growing in popularity every year. As ever, Louth will be playing its part, with a number of our very own cultural institutions throwing open their doors to the public on the evening of Friday September 19th.
“It is a superb opportunity to showcase the cultural offerings on display in our own backyard, and celebrate the rich seam of heritage and history that runs through our local landscape. What’s more, each event is completely free of charge.
“Among the events taking place in the county include: 20:20 event at Creative Spark, Dundalk 7pm; Traditional Music at Droichead Arts Centre 8.30pm; Highlanes Gallery Drogheda will remain open until 9pm; and Studio Theatre-An Táin Arts Centre will host a performance of the short play 'Connor' at 7pm.
“I would encourage anyone who is interested to log onto culturenight.ie and check out the list of local events slated for Culture Night. Of course, none of the events would be possible without the co-operation of local volunteers, local authorities, cultural institutions and participants.
“Overall, Culture Night promises to be a memorable and enlightening evening, and the fact that events will be happening all across the country at the same time will only add to the sense of enjoyment and excitement.”
