Senator Mary Moran today welcomed Jan
O'Sullivan TD, Minister for Education and Skills to Dundalk where the
Minister was guest of honour at the launch of the DCU/DkIT Graduate
School held at the DkIT campus.
"I was delighted to welcome Minister
O'Sullivan to Dundalk where earlier in the day we also paid a visit to
several schools in Dundalk including De La Salle College, St Louis
Secondary School and the three St Malachy schools in Anne St. The
Minister had the opportunity to meet with staff and students and
expressed her delight at her first visit to Dundalk as Minister for
Education.

Speaking after the launch Senator Moran,
herself a DkIT graduate, said, “This is an historic day for Dundalk, Co.
Louth and the North –East region as it sees the official launch of the
Graduate School which will link Dundalk Institute of Technology with
Dublin City University in the provision of Masters Degrees and
Doctorates in various disciplines. It is the result of many months of
planning and research and I would like to congratulate Dr Denis Cummins,
president of DkIT and Dr Brian MacCraith, president of DCU and a native
of Dundalk on this wonderful achievement. I am delighted to welcome
Minister Jan O'Sullivan to Dundalk and hope it is the first of many
visits to the town."
