Funding Approved For Minor Flood Mitigation Works & Coastal Protection in Louth

I welcomed the announcement today that over €100,000 in funding has been approved to Louth County Council for Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme.

I am delighted that four projects have been approved for funding under the scheme.  The works include:

-repair the sea defence at Seabank Castlebellingham - €13,500

-construction of rock armour revetment at Annagassan - €10,800

-placing of rock armour along embankment at Bellurgan Dundalk - €9,000

-Coastal Erosion Risk Management Study for Dundalk Bay - €81,000

The works in Castlebellingham, Annagassan and Bellurgan will help to repair and secure these areas in the coming months.  I look forward to the upcoming improvements in each of these locations and the contribution of the Coastal Erosion Risk Management Study to be undertaken.
