As a rapporteur for the Oireachtas Education Committee, I have organised a committee meeting on Wednesday, 1st July with the NCSE, Department of Education and Skills, National Parents Council - Primary, National Parents Council - Post Primary and IMPACT to discuss the role of special needs assistants.
The meeting will see presentations from each of the five groups with contributions from myself and committee members. The meeting is set to begin at 1pm tomorrow and you can watch the proceedings live at:

I look forward to a constructive discussion with each of the groups tomorrow which will feed into the final committee report on 'The Role of the Special Needs Assistant'.
